Our work here is on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic
between Cabarete and Puerto Plata.This Island, the most lovely in the Caribbean,earns its money mainly from the tourist industry being able to boast beautiful beaches, waving palm trees, all inclusive hotels. But behind this there lies another Dominican Republic of poverty and hunger. This is where we seek to serve both God and our fellow human being.
The Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic occupies the eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with Haiti. It's population of 8 million includes almost 1 million Haitians who have fled their country in search of a better life.
